NUMBERS OR WEIGHT
Knowledge of silver limited at major libertarian event
When asked, "Do you take silver?" Most vendors at Freedom Fest 2009 in Las Vegas said "No." When asked, "Did you know there is a Nickel with silver in it?" Most vendors and participants said, "No."
Yes, there were those that knew much about silver, but the libertarian/conservative crowd attending Freedom Fest obviously have not yet embraced the concept of gold and silver as money.
Take for example American Open Currency Standard Executive Director Rob Gray, he didn't know that a 1965 Kennedy Half Dollar contains silver. I offered, unsuccessfully, to buy one of his silver coins with a sack of "Junk Silver."
"Junk Silver" is pre-1965 U.S. coins with 90 percent silver, which includes all U.S. coins except for nickels. Kennedy Half Dollars dated 1965-71 are 40 percent silver. Nickels minted during World War II are 35 percent silver.
When silver is currency again, "Junk Silver" will likely become popular during the transition. Furthermore weight, not numbers, will be the way money is defined.
Some libertarians are emphasizing numbers, not weight, on their silver coins! We've got a long long road ahead.

TASER
THIS
The Shocking Truth about Modern Day Police Abuse
Liberty-Watch.com Editor Mike Zigler held the attention of about a dozen people with his Pig Tales presentation. He told stories about police abuse, with emphasis on the misuse of tasers. According to Zigler, police have killed over 300 people with tasers since 2001. The lead footed speaker also gave information on how to stay away from the DMV and avoid traffic tickets. Jarret Keene, a renowned Las Vegas writer, was a no show at the event which had his name on the marquee. The small crowd provided much input. Libertarian
Debra Dedmon commented that when cops are in danger they pull out their gun, not a taser, tasers are just their "new toy." She also pointed out that cops are part of a tight knit brotherhood that keep quiet when one of their own misbehaves.

SILVER
HISTORY 101
Silver is a commodity that has been known and used since the dawn of civilization like gold, copper, grain, and fibers
For thousands of years silver was produced and utilized by man, mostly in coinage, jewelry and utensils. It was coveted by the ancient Egyptians. It was in the Old Testament. Jesus Christ was betrayed for 30 pieces of it. Now all the silver from the time of the Pharaohs, the Romans, Marco Polo, and the Conquistadors is gone. We mined billions of ounces of silver throughout history. Where did all the silver go?

SILVER UNLEASHED
Strong demand for silver could
mean a price explosion ahead.
There will never be a more certain
opportunity to make 9 times your money
than with silver today. ~ Lewis Whitten

"If a businessman is a capitalist in the sense that he upholds the ideal of a market economy, it is not because he is a businessman but, rather, that he is a student who sees through the fallacies of socialism and grasps the efficacy of freedom. Indeed, in the absence of a principled stand for capitalism, those of high energy with a strong desire to achieve and get ahead - entrepreneurs - are forever tempted to use their high positions in a political way to exploit the masses, that is, to become anticapitalists. The exceptions, the entrepreneurs who maintain a principled capitalistic position, are men who have 'worked against the grain' - an admirable moral and intellectual achievement. These are men who stand for freedom in spite of being businessmen."
