LIBERAL
OR LIBERTARIAN Pennywise: Changing their evil ways
For twenty
years Pennywise has been a major force on the punk rock scene. They
formed in the same small coastal community of Hermosa Beach that
produced three of the most infamous hardcore punk bands of all time,
Black Flag, the Circle Jerks and the Descendents.
In the world of punk rock, Pennywise has achieved a very high level of
popularity. It's possible they changed the political feel of punk rock
as well. Early on punk rock resonated a call for Anarchy - the freedom
to live as one chooses. Pennywise pushed a more liberal agenda.
That's
changing though, guitarist Fletcher Dragge, who for a long time
supported the U.S. Government and the Democratic Party, has found a
reason to believe. He found RON PAUL: "the only motherfucker who
has ever run for office and told the truth at the same time…
straight talk no bullshit, everything he says rings true."
"RON PAUL will be blackballed by the powers that be, if he does
not get our help," Dragge said. "It's time to take back our
country from these assholes in power before its to late. Please google
RON PAUL and get to know this guy.
"I'm backing him harder than any previous candidate and this guy
is a republican. (What does that tell you?) Take a minute to check him
out and I'm sure that you to will see the light… or maybe we should
just sit back while our health care fails, ours schools disintegrate,
and our social security funds get spent on wars we don't belong in, so
these fuckers can line their pockets with somemore blood money. It's
time for change, and RON PAUL is the guy to do it!"

CD REVIEW
PENNYWISE
Reason to Believe
Reason to Believe is the ninth studio album by the American punk rock
band Pennywise, which was released on March 25, 2008 as a worldwide
free digital download on MySpace. MySpace Records released the album
within the United States as a standard CD and a limited-edition vinyl
version with two bonus tracks not available in any other format. This
is the first time a Pennywise album would have a Parental Advisory
label on some album covers, even though many of their previous albums
contain profanity. Reason to Believe peaked at #98 in the United
States on the The Billboard 200, and #46 in Australia on the ARIA
Albums Chart, the band's second lowest position on that chart since
the critically-acclaimed but commercially unsuccessful 1995 album
About Time.

"If a businessman is a capitalist in the sense that he upholds the ideal of a market economy, it is not because he is a businessman but, rather, that he is a student who sees through the fallacies of socialism and grasps the efficacy of freedom. Indeed, in the absence of a principled stand for capitalism, those of high energy with a strong desire to achieve and get ahead - entrepreneurs - are forever tempted to use their high positions in a political way to exploit the masses, that is, to become anticapitalists. The exceptions, the entrepreneurs who maintain a principled capitalistic position, are men who have 'worked against the grain' - an admirable moral and intellectual achievement. These are men who stand for freedom in spite of being businessmen."
